Welcome Message from Chair

Welcome to ICPE2027
The 4th International Conference on Press-in Engineering

On behalf of the International Press-in Association (IPA) and the Organizing Committee, I am honored to welcome you to the 4th ICPE (ICPE2027), the first International Conference on Press-in Engineering to be held in Europe. This event will be held in the Netherlands in June-Early July 2027, during IPA’s 20th anniversary year—a milestone that reflects two decades of progress and global collaboration in advancing press-in engineering.

Press-in Engineering is an interdisciplinary academic and practical discipline that integrates research, technology, and practice through collaboration among academia, industry, and government. It combines geotechnical, environmental, and mechanical engineering with advanced construction monitoring and data technologies to address real-world challenges, enable practical implementation, and support sustainable, resilient infrastructure. Originating in Japan, press-in piling technology has evolved into a global innovation and is now rapidly being adopted in Europe for projects safeguarding waterways, coastal zones, and heritage structures.

The theme of ICPE2027, “Press-in Engineering for Resilient, Sustainable and Culturally Sensitive Infrastructure,” reflects our shared commitment to combining technical excellence with environmental stewardship and cultural awareness. The conference will feature keynote lectures by leading experts, technical sessions on diverse topics, and a site visit or facility tour showcasing pioneering applications in the Netherlands.

ICPE2027 also embodies four core objectives:

  • Strengthen the academic foundation of press-in engineering through research and knowledge exchange.
  • Create an international platform integrating research, technology, and practice.
  • Promote collaboration among academia, industry, and government to drive innovation and global standards.
  • Enhance visibility and recognition through awards and capacity building, inspiring the next generation of engineers.

We warmly invite you to join us in the Netherlands, one of Europe’s leading hubs for innovation and technology, as we look ahead to the future of press-in engineering and celebrate this important milestone in IPA’s journey.

Sincerely,

Kenneth Gavin
